Lucca Antiques Market Retreats
New dates for 2023:
16th - 19th June (£895.00 per person) 14th - 17th July (£950.00 per person) 18th - 21st August (£1,020.00 per person) If trawling around antique markets is something that makes you giddy with excitement and leaves you hyperventilating unable to move, just at the very thought of the treasure you may find…then our Four Day Retreat to include a trip to Lucca Antiques Market, is just up your street!
The beautiful city of Lucca, famous for its intact Renaissance wall, is just an hour from Settimo Cielo Retreat. Lucca was founded by the Etruscans and became prosperous through the silk trade that began in the 11th Century, a fabulous visit in itself! The Antique Market is sprawling, running through narrow streets spilling into the larger piazza. Stall after stall crammed with fascinating things to tickle your fancy, from exquisitely embroidered linens, vintage fabrics and trimmings to furniture, books, paintings, icons, old frames, china, jewellery, chandeliers, wonderful antique iron door furniture hand crafted by artisans, and general bric a brac! I have my favourite stallholders, people I have built strong relationships with, so I can guarantee you will be charged fair prices. The atmosphere is warm and laid back, its great just wandering and people watching…so many colourful characters! This market is my favourite! If you have any energy left, you can walk along the wall or wander through the labyrinth of lanes until you arrive at the Amphitheatre! The Accommodation: The cost is based on two people sharing a room with breakfast in a traditional 17th century manor townhouse, situated in the heart of one of our local villages - just 5 minutes from Settimo Cielo Retreat. The bonus is… they have a pool! |
